SPECIAL EDITION - LOST TRACKS

Vielleicht fragen Sie sich gerade "Was meint denn der für verlorene Lieder?", die Erklärung folgt auf dem Fusse.

Um das Jahr 1990 übernahm SonyMusic den Musikverlag CBS, und mit ihm die KuschelRock-Reihe.
Genau zu dieser Zeit nahmen aber alle Musikverlage gerade die Konvertierung von LP nach CD in Angriff.
Und bei CBS/SonyMusic war das nicht anders.
Doch bei genauer Betrachtung der KuschelRock-Reihe fallen einige Lieder auf,
die den Sprung auf die CD nicht geschafft haben.
Und bei noch genauerer Betrachtung fallen sogar einige Lieder auf,
die nie auf den LP's zu finden waren, jetzt aber auf den CD's drauf sind.
Für das erste Phänomen gibt es einen einfachen Grund:
42 Lieder pro 3er LP-Pack mit je 4 Minuten sind 168 Minuten - mindestens 8 Minuten zuviel.
Auch für das zweite Phänomen gibt es einen einfachen Grund:
Die LP KuschelRock 5 enthielt nur 2 LP's und 28 Lieder - es war also noch Platz frei.
Einige der Titel haben es inzwischen auf KuschelRock-Alben geschafft,
das steht dann mit Angabe des entsprechenden Albums hinter dem Liednamen.

Weiter unten finden Sie eine Auswahl dieser Lieder die auf eine Audio-CD passt.

Maybe you ask yourself "What lost tracks is he talking about?", the explanation follows.

Around the year 1990 the music company CBS was overtaken by SonyMusic, and with them the KuschelRock-Series.
Exactly at the same time most of the recording companies were starting to convert the LP to CD.
And the same with CBS/SonyMusic.
But if you take a look at the KuschelRock-Series you find some songs
that didn't make it to the CD.
And if take another look you will even find songs
that seem to appear on CD but never had been on LP.
For the first point there is a simple reason:
42 songs on a 3 LP-set with 4 minutes length are 168 minutes - at least 8 minutes too much.
Also for the second point there is a simple reason:
The LP KuschelRock 5 contains only 2 LP's and 28 songs - so there was time left.
Some of the songs made it on KuschelRock CD's later
that appears as a red note with the name of the CD behind the songtitle.
